new york city doesn’t stop finding fun ways to get people outdoors. after the opening of the 2nd section of the high line earlier this summer they’re now opening a roller-skating rink. located at 30th Street and 10th Avenue, the rink received sponsorship from Uniqlo, the Japanese powerhouse fashion retailer.

move
i love to travel and the 3 guys that made the 1 minute video above definitely had the opportunity of a lifetime. sponsored by sta travel australia the 3 guys traveled for 44 days to 11 countries in 18 flights over 38 thousand miles with 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage. MOVE by rick mereki, tim white and andrew lees is a neat video and i’m curious to see what, if anything at all, they will create with the rest of the footage. click on the image above to see the video.

environments

this weekend i went out to a few places in delray and miami. after looking at the pictures these caught my eye. i found it to be amazing how each of these places have created an environment so different from one another from a chill bar/pub to dance club to a beautiful restaurant and chic bar. remember to be aware of your surroundings and take it all in.

bardot + great white + lunch

super chill weekend. friday night i met some friends at bardot for drinks and music. it was a bit crowded and the music was not up to par so we peaced out early.
saturday was overcast so i explored miami beach and that night i had friends over for drinks. we then we went to the room where my friends got great white beer in the spirit of shark week.
sunday i went a pool party, minus the pool because of the weather, with risotto and chicken for lunch, so delicious and a great way to end the weekend.

IBMer – they were there
surfing the web over the weekend i saw an ad for a documentary about IBM. i had some time to kill and was curious to learn more. well, let’s just say that without IBM the world would be a much different place. the film, created by errol morris with music by philip glass, does a great job of pinpointing pivot accomplishments of IBM that changed the way the world runs to this day. click on the image above or here to watch the short documentary, believe me it’s worth it.

cirque eloize iD
as the work day came to a close my cousin sent me a text if i wanted to go to cirque eloize id that night. hellz yeah! i had no idea what the show was about but was pretty confident it would be awesome, and it was! with acrobats, break dancers, contortionists and a fearless stunt biker the show takes you to another place. what’s crazy is i got picked to go on stage to lay on the floor and have this fearless stunt biker jump me…several times. since i was on the floor i didn’t see what he was doing i was just shaking hoping to god he wouldn’t land on my face or my package. i found a youtube video of what he did if you’re curious here. i totally recommend this show!

bleen
a few months back there was this provocative video promoting a site called bleen. i googled the definition and found that it means “of an object, blue when first observed before a specified time or green when first observed after that time” – wtf could that be? after changing launch dates on more than two occasions the site finally went live. off the bat you see what you saw in the video but then you find out they sell cool shirts like the ones above, pretty neat i think. head over to bleen and definitely read the about section, it’s just interesting to find out what bleen is, it’s a cool concept.

stylish protection
during these summer months you just want to be near the water. then again, it’s freakin’ hot outside and those beach umbrella’s although functional are kind of ehhh. how about this alternative to the round umbrella from hollie and harrie. it doesn’t say how sturdy it is when it comes to wind but i imagine with four nails in the sand you should be pretty good plus it looks cool.

beach party shenanigans
saturday was awesome! my friend lives in between the intercostal and the atlantic and it’s sick. such a beautiful view and great private beach. the party had great food, chill people and awesome drinks….is that how you would say it? either way it was a good time and i was introduced to a new tequila, espolón which is pretty good. they infused it with cilantro and jalapeño which gave it a nice kick as you can tell by the empty bottle.
